This roller is part of MKM Pottery Tools’ Twig (TW) line – their smallest line of hand-held texture rollers. Because of their compact size, Twig rollers are perfect for adding fine detail to small ceramic creations, jewelry, and other pieces where a larger roller simply won’t fit. In addition to clay, they work beautifully on polymer and precious metal clays, making them a versatile addition to any studio.
To use it, simply roll the Lines and Dots small texture roller with your hand or with a roller board across a slab of clay. On a thrown pot, roll it up the outside wall to create a beautiful pattern. MKM wood rollers are bevel-carved, allowing the clay to release easily without sticking or distorting the pattern. They are finished with oil to protect the wood and ensure durability over many years of studio use. If clay does get stuck in the grooves, gently brush it out with a soft toothbrush and warm water, then let it air dry.
