DD-15 MKM Decorating Disk – 15 inch (38 cm) diameter
$35.00
MKM Decorating Disks DD-15 are a super useful set of 15 inch (38 cm) disks designed to allow users to divide space easily and quickly. They come in a set of two (odd divisions and even divisions) sturdy flexible transparent sheets. They can be used to evenly space handles, to initiate brushwork, to create multi sided plates, mark throwing bats, and so on.
Why an MKM Tool Is Worth More
- CNC-carved, never laser-etched or 3D printed, for deeper, cleaner impressions in the clay.
- Beveled edges that stamp crisply and sit comfortably in the hand.
- A seamless pattern that repeats without visible breaks when rolled.
- Oil-treated hardwood built to last: studio tools still in daily use after 20 years, with no cracking.
- Clean release from the clay, so fine detail stays sharp and nothing sticks.
- Designed and tested by working potters in the MKM studio.
Description
DD-15 MKM Decorating Disks is a set of two 15 inches (38 cm) sturdy flexible transparent sheets. They are designed to allow the user to easily and quickly divide space, such as making a 5 sided plate out of a round thrown plate, putting four evenly spaced handles near the top of a large jar, or making sure a round bowl is squared accurately. Use the concentric circles to quickly center your piece. Colored radial lines indicate even divisions (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12) on one decorating disk and odd divisions (3, 5, 7, 9) on the other disk. The holes at the intersections of all the radial lines and all the concentric circles allow you to mark directly through the decorating disk to the surface below.
